I always recommend that you visit a reputable skate shop with a trained skate tech. In fact, I recommend that all my skaters go to Greg at Polar Skate Shop.
However, I do realize that no matter what I say, some of you will prefer to shop online. I feel that this is unfortunate because I truly believe that you will benefit more from the service of an expert without paying more money.
For this reason, I have partnered with the Figure Skating Store. While I'm providing an online option for your convenience, you should always try to visit a local skate shop in person to be fitted appropriately.
Please remember that skates should fit like a "Cinderella slipper" when wearing thin skating socks. Ice skates should never be too big!
I also realize it can be tempting to purchase skates that your child can grow into. However, skates should be the correct size for them today and not 6 months from now. Skaters will need appropriate skates for their level, and as they progress, it will be necessary to purchase new pairs. So never go more than one-half size larger than the skater's current size.
I highly recommend that you check with your coach or skating director to suggest where to go near you before purchasing anything online!
Also, please note that the links below are affiliate links. I may receive a small commission on your purchase from the Figure Skating Store. Please note that I do not receive a commission from Polar Skate Shop.
This skate is my top pick for beginner skaters that are up to 80 lbs.
