I coach on both Freestyle and Public Sessions at SportsCare Arena.
Lessons for beginning skaters and hockey skating skills lessons (without sticks and/or pucks) are permitted on Freestyle sessions with an approved coach at SportsCare Arena (Aspen Ice).
Double runner skates and walker skate aids are not permitted in lessons. Rental skates are included with Public Session admission.
Helmets are strongly recommended for ALL beginner skaters and every skater under 7! SportsCare Arena does not rent helmets - please bring your own.
Public Sessions are suitable for beginning skaters up to Basic 4 and hockey skating skills.
Public session admission is:
Session admission is per person, including skate rentals - there is no discount if you bring your own skates.
Lessons are not permitted on Friday and Saturday evening Public Sessions!
Learn to Skate Group Lessons skaters receive a six-session public skating pass. The pass can be used during any public skating session so skaters can practice their skating skills. The pass can be found on the back of the skater's name tag. If you use this pass, you must check in at the front desk before you enter the ice surface. There are no other Public Session discounts available.
Prime season for Public Session skating is November thru March. If you have a lesson on a Public Session, please arrive at least 30 minutes early to ensure ample time to check in at the front desk! There is often a line to check in and pay.
Your lesson cannot be extended if you are late due to waiting in the queue for payment or rental skates.
Freestyle Sessions are for figure skaters above Basic 5.
Hockey skating (no sticks or pucks) and beginner lessons are permitted with an approved coach.
Admission to Freestyle sessions is $23* per hour and does not include skate rental.
Discount cards are no longer available at SportsCare Arena.
During the hockey season, Freestyle sessions at Aspen are unfortunately very limited!
There are additional options for Freestyle sessions at Mennen and Ice Vault for figure skaters!
Private lesson fees and admission to the session are separate fees.
You must pay both session admission and your lesson fee before getting on the ice.
- Pay your coach for your lesson directly - do not pay the front desk for your lesson!
- Pay for your ice session and check in with the front desk.
- Once you have paid both the facility and your coach you are permitted to get on the ice.
There are no refunds or make-ups for any reason.
Private Coaching Fees
Professional fees for private lessons are listed on your lesson confirmation.
Ice session admission is additional.
Private lessons fees are non-negotiable. There are no package pricing or discounts.
Convenience Fees for Credit Card Payments
Lessons paid by credit and debit card, including Venmo or Paypal transactions will incur convenience fees of 3.5% on the transaction amount.
No convenience fees are imposed for cash or Zelle transactions.
